Every Rotel item is tested before listing and graded for condition. Every input gets a cable, every control gets turned, somebody actually plays it, and we listen for hum, hiss and crackle. Real photos show the actual unit, and any wear is noted in the listing.

Can I pair a Rotel preamp and power amp from different years?

Usually, yes. A preamp and power amp connect over standard line-level RCA leads, so an RC preamp will drive an RB power amp from another generation. Matching series, such as the RC-980BX with the RB-970BX, simply look tidier on the rack. Check each listing for which leads are included.
