The Technics SH-8045 is a stereo graphic equalizer offering 12 bands per channel, spanning an exceptionally wide range from 16 Hz up to 32 kHz. Each band provides up to ±12 dB of continuous adjustment, with a switchable ±3 dB range for finer, more controlled corrections. The unit achieves a total harmonic distortion of just 0.005% across the audible band and a signal-to-noise ratio of 100-110 dB (IHF-A), courtesy of semiconductor inductor band-pass filters designed to keep the signal path clean. Frequency response extends from 5 Hz to 100 kHz (-1 dB), making it well suited to high-resolution source material. Practical features include an equalizer on/off switch for instant A/B comparison, an equalizer position switch to apply EQ during tape recording, and a tape monitor switch - all in a standard 430 mm wide chassis weighing under 3 kg.
