About this model
The Tannoy Mercury M1 is a compact passive bookshelf speaker built around a 2-way bass reflex design, pairing a 1-inch tweeter with a 5-inch mid/bass driver and a 2.5kHz crossover. It has an 87dB sensitivity and 8 ohm nominal impedance, and works with amplifiers in the 10 to 70 watt range. The smaller woofer and lower crossover point give it tighter bass and better imaging than the larger Mercury M2, which suits desktop and small-room listening, especially alongside a subwoofer. The rear-ported cabinet measures 170 x 300 x 210mm and weighs 4.5kg per speaker.
