About This Model
The Sony PS-LX30 is a fully automatic direct-drive turntable built around a linear torque BSL (brushless and slotless) motor with FG servo speed control, delivering exceptionally stable playback at both 33⅓ and 45 rpm. Its 30 cm aluminium-alloy diecast platter keeps wow and flutter to just 0.03% WRMS, and the signal-to-noise ratio reaches 75 dB (DIN-B) - figures that reflect genuine engineering care for audio fidelity. The statically balanced tonearm spans 235 mm in total length and is fitted with a moving magnet cartridge running a conical diamond stylus at approximately 2.1 grams of tracking force, covering the full 20 Hz-20 kHz audio spectrum. Automatic lead-in, return, reject, and repeat functions make operation straightforward, and the deck is distinct from later Sony USB or Bluetooth variants - this is a pure analogue machine.
