About This Model
The Rotel RCD-1072 is a single-disc CD player built around a Burr-Brown PCM-1732 DAC featuring 18-bit equivalent Multi-Level Delta-Sigma conversion with 8x oversampling, delivering a frequency response of 20-20,000 Hz (±0.5 dB), a dynamic range of over 96 dB, and a signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 100 dB. A standout feature is its HDCD decoding capability, allowing compatible discs to be played back with greater resolution. On the output side it provides both a stereo RCA (Cinch) analogue output and a coaxial digital output, making it straightforward to integrate into either a traditional analogue system or a digital chain. The unit is powered by a large toroidal transformer with a segmented power supply - a design choice associated with lower noise and stable performance.
