About This Model

The Laney LA-Studio Black Country Customs is a 3-watt all-tube guitar amp head built in the United Kingdom as a modern, studio-focused reimagining of the iconic 1967 Laney Supergroup - the amplifier closely associated with Tony Iommi and the early Black Sabbath sound. Its Class AB power stage runs three ECC83 pre-amp tubes and a single 12BH7 power tube, with a power brake that drops output to 0.1 watts for near-silent operation. At its core is an integrated Two Notes Torpedo module with DynIR technology, loading six bespoke virtual cabinets (each captured with eight microphones) for direct, cabinet-free recording via the balanced XLR output. Four input jacks - Bass Hi, Bass Lo, Treble Hi, and Treble Lo - offer a range of gain and tonal character, while a headphone output, two speaker outputs (16 ohm and 8 ohm), USB, and MIDI In/Out/Thru round out the connectivity. Full parameter control is available through Two Notes Torpedo Remote software on Mac or PC.
