About This Model

The Akai Professional MPX16 is a standalone digital sampler and MIDI pad controller built around 16 velocity-sensitive pads. It records and plays back CD-quality (16-bit) samples stored on SD card, with up to 64 voices of polyphony and onboard DSP tools including tuning controls, filters, envelopes, and choke grouping for expressive live performance or studio use. A built-in stereo microphone lets you capture samples directly to the unit, while connectivity covers stereo 1/4-inch inputs and outputs, a dedicated headphone output, 5-pin MIDI In and Out, and USB MIDI - making it equally at home as a standalone player or as a pad controller feeding an external setup.
