Check the connection first. Many older MOTU units, such as the 828 Mk2, 896 and Traveler, use FireWire, which newer computers don't have without an adapter. The 828x and 828ES add Thunderbolt and USB. Check MOTU's driver support for your operating system before you buy, or ask us about the unit.

How do you test used MOTU interfaces?

Every unit is tested before listing and graded for condition. Every input gets a cable, every control gets turned, and we listen for hum, hiss and crackle. Any fault is noted in the listing, and anything sold as spares or repair is clearly marked.
