The Yamaha YST-SW005 is a compact active subwoofer built around Yamaha's Advanced Active Servo Technology in a band-pass enclosure, delivering bass response from 30 Hz to 200 Hz via a 16 cm (6.5-inch) magnetically shielded cone driver. It accepts both speaker-level signals (INPUT 1) and pre-out/line-level signals (INPUT 2), and features a speaker-level pass-through output so it can be looped into an existing stereo setup without additional switching. A built-in high-cut (low-pass) filter, adjustable input gain, and auto standby mode round out the feature set, while a voltage selector makes it compatible with both 110–120 V and 220–240 V supplies. At 8.5 kg and 200 × 365 × 375 mm, it is a genuinely space-efficient way to add real low-frequency extension to a desktop or compact stereo system.
