About This Model

The Yamaha THR5 is a 10W (5W + 5W) stereo desktop guitar amplifier built around Yamaha's Virtual Circuitry Technology digital modelling engine. It offers five amp voicings — Clean, Crunch, Lead, Brit Hi, and Modern — delivered through two 8cm full-range speakers with Extended Stereo Technology for a wider sound image than its compact footprint suggests. On-board effects include chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo, delay, delay/reverb, spring reverb, and hall reverb, with compressor and noise gate accessible via the THR Editor software. The USB port enables direct recording into Cubase AI, and the AUX input accepts external audio sources via stereo mini jack. A headphone output makes silent practice straightforward. The amp runs on the included AC adaptor or AA/nickel-hydride batteries for around six to seven hours of portable use.
