The Yamaha SU10 is a compact portable sampling unit built around a digital sampler engine supporting four sampling rates — from Extra Long (11.64 kHz) through to High grade (44.1 kHz) — giving you a trade-off between recording time and audio fidelity. It offers 48 sample storage slots across four banks of 12 pads, with a maximum polyphony of 4 voices at lower rates, dropping to 1 stereo or 2 mono voices at the highest quality setting. A standout feature is the ribbon controller, which enables real-time manipulation including scratch effects, pitch bend, filter sweeps, and crossfade. On-board digital filtering covers low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass modes with selectable resonance, and the ribbon can also be used to process external audio fed through the stereo mini-jack input or mic input in real time. A built-in sequencer handles up to 4 songs and around 1,000 events, and MIDI In/Out plus MIDI Sample Dump Standard support make it easy to integrate with other gear and back up your samples. Sampling time reaches up to 67.4 seconds mono at the lowest rate, with global pitch control and manual loop point setting rounding out the feature set.
