About this model
The Yamaha HS8S is a powered studio subwoofer built around an 8-inch bass reflex cone driver and a dedicated 150-watt RMS amplifier, covering a frequency range of 22Hz to 150Hz. It is designed to integrate with full-range studio monitors, extending the low-end picture for mixing and mastering work. Connectivity is thorough: two XLR and two 1/4-inch TRS inputs accept stereo signals, while XLR outputs pass signal on to monitors or a secondary subwoofer. Onboard controls include adjustable high-cut and low-cut filters (80-120Hz), a phase reverse switch, and a continuous level knob, giving engineers precise control over how the sub blends into a monitoring system. The cabinet is constructed from MDF and weighs 12.5 kg.
