About This Model

The TL Audio Ebony Summer 16:2 is a 2U rack-mount analog summing mixer, handmade in the UK as part of TL Audio's Ebony Series. It accepts 16 mono inputs via 1/4" TRS and D-Sub (DB-25) connectors, with input levels switchable between -10 dBu and +4 dBu in groups, and offers individual pan controls for each channel. The signal path is fully discrete Class A with no integrated circuits, keeping the audio entirely analog. A switchable 12AX7 tube stage adds a variable "Tube Warmth" control for dialling in harmonic saturation when desired. The master bus features balanced stereo XLR outputs, balanced stereo insert points via 1/4" TRS — which can also serve as an additional summed output for routing back into a DAW — plus VU meters and LED peak indicators. TL Audio has since ceased trading, making this a sought-after unit that is no longer in production.
