About This Model

The TC Electronic Zeus Drive is an all-analog overdrive pedal built around 1N34A Germanium clipping diodes, delivering the warm, responsive breakup characteristic of classic germanium-based circuits. A dual concentric gain control lets you blend the driven signal with your clean tone, while a Treble control trims the highs without thinning the low end - a balance that keeps the guitar sounding full even at higher gain settings. The FAT switch adds a further low-end boost for a thicker, more saturated feel. Internally, a charge pump steps up the operating voltage beyond the standard 9V DC supply, increasing headroom and dynamic range so the pedal responds naturally to picking dynamics. Bypass behaviour - true or buffered - is selectable via an internal DIP switch, making it adaptable to different signal chain requirements. The whole circuit is housed in a compact metal enclosure.
