About This Model
The Tascam SS-R200 is a professional solid-state stereo audio recorder built for broadcast and installation environments. It records and plays back WAV (16/24-bit) and MP3 (64-320 kbps) files at 44.1 or 48 kHz to CompactFlash, SD/SDHC cards, or USB memory - with no moving parts for high reliability in continuous-use settings. I/O is comprehensive: balanced XLR inputs and outputs at +4 dBu, unbalanced RCA jacks at -10 dBV, S/PDIF/AES/EBU coaxial digital I/O, and a 6.3mm headphone output. Control options include RS-232C serial, a DB-25 parallel port, PS/2 keyboard input, and USB 2.0, making it straightforward to integrate into automated playback or broadcast workflows. Built-in features include pitch control (±16% / ±6 semitones), multiple playback modes including playlist and random, WAV file editing (divide, combine, erase, rename), and Flash Start access to up to 20 tracks via optional remote. The SS-R200 has since been discontinued and succeeded by the SS-R250N.
