About this model

The Tascam 424MKII is a 4-track cassette recorder with a full integrated mixer, designed for self-contained multitrack recording on standard compact cassette tape (C-30 to C-90). The mixer section offers 8 inputs - four balanced XLR mic/line channels and four stereo line/sub inputs - alongside RCA sub inputs, stereo line and monitor outputs, two effect sends, and a headphone output, making it a genuinely versatile recording hub. Each channel carries a 3-band EQ with sweepable midrange (250 Hz to 5 kHz, ±14 dB), high and low shelving, while dbx Type II noise reduction pushes signal-to-noise performance to 90 dB unweighted. Two switchable tape speeds (9.5 cm/sec and 4.8 cm/sec) trade fidelity for tape economy, and the microprocessor-operated transport includes a three-point autolocator, repeat loop, rehearsal mode, and auto punch-in/out - workflow tools that hold up well for overdub-based recording. A fluorescent display and 60 mm long-throw main fader round out a unit that packs a surprising amount of studio functionality into a standalone cassette format.

A great opportunity to own a Tascam 424MKII at this price point.
