This Hi-Fi speaker is in fair condition. Our 7-point functional test was completed in full: all checks passed except no rattle. Note: Both speakers are in working order. However, one of the tweeters has started to fail and produces a quiet, high-pitched buzzing sound when powered on, which is more noticeable at higher volumes. Cosmetically, both speakers are in good condition with only a few surface marks and scratches. Please review all photos carefully, as they provide an accurate representation of the cosmetic condition of the product.

The Tannoy Mercury M3 is a 2-way bass reflex floorstanding speaker pairing a 6-inch woofer with a soft dome tweeter, crossing over at 2.7kHz. It offers a frequency response of 35Hz to 20kHz, 89dB sensitivity and an 8 ohm nominal impedance, and suits amplifiers in the 10 to 90 watt range. The cabinet is built from raw ash wood plates rather than plywood or particle board, and the removable front face reveals an attractive wood finish. Foam bungs are included for the bass port to tighten the low end if needed. It is known for clear highs and mids, natural bass and good stereo imaging, though without a subwoofer it won't deliver deep, loud bass.
