About this model
The SubZero ControlKey 49S is a 49-key slim, portable MIDI controller designed for use with a DAW or external sound source. Its touch-sensitive keys offer five selectable velocity curves, giving players control over dynamic expression. Connectivity covers USB (which also powers the unit - no adapter needed) and a dedicated MIDI Out port, plus a sustain pedal input. Four assignable control knobs across two banks, along with a customizable fader that can be mapped to master volume, pitch bend, or velocity, add hands-on parameter control. A standout feature is the Edit mode, which turns all 49 keys into assignable MIDI control buttons with configurable note numbers, momentary or toggle behaviour, and custom on/off values. Octave shift and transpose buttons round out the controls, and the plug-and-play design works on Windows and Mac OSX without drivers.
