About This Model

The Soundcraft Compact 4 is an analog desktop audio mixer built around two mono channel strips, each equipped with XLR combo inputs, Class A preamps, 48V phantom power, a Hi-Z direct input for instruments, a three-band shelving EQ, and a high-pass filter. Two stereo line inputs add switchable RIAA phono preamplification for connecting turntables directly. Outputs cover balanced and unbalanced record outputs, balanced mix and monitor outputs, plus two independent headphone outputs — one for the engineer and one for the artist, with a customizable blend — making it well suited to small home recording and podcasting setups where a separate cue mix is needed. A dedicated RECORD button on each channel routes signal directly to a recording device for zero-latency monitoring. Note: the unit requires an external power transformer and is not battery-powered.
