About This Model
The Sony VO-5630 is a Type 5 U-matic video cassette recorder built around a rotary two-head helical scan system with FM luminance recording and converted subcarrier direct colour recording. It supports CCIR standards PAL and SECAM for recording and playback, delivering 330 lines of horizontal resolution in monochrome and 250 lines in colour, with signal-to-noise ratios exceeding 48dB and 45dB respectively. Connectivity includes BNC video inputs and outputs, 7-pin dubbing connectors, 8-pin TV connectors, and phonojack audio inputs for both microphone and line-level signals, alongside line and headphone outputs. Tape transport runs at 9.53 cm/sec, providing up to 60 minutes of recording time on Sony KSP-60 cassettes, with pause, auto long-pause, and ±5× search functions. The unit weighs approximately 23.3 kg and requires AC 220/240V mains power at 65W consumption.
