About this model

The Shure SM58 is a handheld dynamic vocal microphone built around a moving-coil capsule with a cardioid polar pattern, which picks up sound from the front while rejecting off-axis noise. Its frequency response runs from 50 to 15,000 Hz, and a pneumatic suspension system isolates the capsule to reduce handling noise. A built-in spherical wind and pop filter sits behind a rugged steel mesh grille, and it connects via a three-pin male XLR. It weighs 298 grams and is commonly used for live vocals and stage performance.
