About this model
The Roland RD-300GX is an 88-key stage piano built around Roland's PHA Alpha II weighted keyboard action, which replicates the feel of a grand piano by delivering a heavier touch in the lower octaves and lighter response toward the upper register. Its sound engine draws on two sets of 88-key stereo multi-sampled piano voices derived from the flagship RD-700SX, alongside electric pianos, organs, and additional tones, giving performers a broad palette on stage. The Piano Designer feature allows deep customisation of the acoustic piano sound - adjusting parameters such as hammer noise, damper resonance, and duplex scale simulation. Practical extras include USB memory playback of WAV, AIFF, and MP3 files via Audio Key functionality, multi-zone master control for driving external gear, and up to 128 voices of polyphony. I/O covers stereo L/MONO and R quarter-inch outputs, MIDI in/out, USB, and a headphone jack. At around 36 lbs it sits on the lighter end of the full-size stage piano spectrum.
