About This Model
The Roland PG-300 is a dedicated synthesizer programmer and MIDI controller produced between 1985 and 1989 in Japan. It generates no sound of its own; instead, it is designed specifically to provide hands-on control over the Roland Alpha Juno 1, Alpha Juno 2, and MKS-50 synthesizers. Rather than navigating menus, the user can manipulate synthesis parameters - including filter cutoff, resonance, LFO, and envelopes - in real time via 30 sliders and dedicated knobs. Connectivity comprises MIDI In, MIDI Out, and MIDI Through via standard 5-pin DIN cables, plus a DC power input requiring an external 9V adapter. One practical note: the unit lacks non-volatile memory, so the MIDI channel selection must be re-entered each time it is powered on.
