About This Model

The Roland FR-3X is a digital V-Accordion built around a 37-key velocity-sensitive piano-type treble keyboard and 120 velocity-sensitive bass buttons, giving players expressive, dynamic control across both hands. Its sound engine draws on 64MB of Wave ROM to deliver 21 accordion sets alongside 10 orchestral sounds and 10 organ sounds with rotary effects, all with up to 128 voices of polyphony. Physical Behavior Modeling (PBM) simulates reed response with 16 micro-tuning presets, while a high-resolution bellows pressure sensor and an adjustable bellows resistance regulator let players fine-tune the feel to match their playing style. Two onboard 10cm neodymium speakers powered at 2 x 11W RMS mean the FR-3X can perform standalone without an external amp, and connectivity extends to stereo audio outputs, headphone socket, MIDI IN/OUT, and a USB flash memory port for MP3 and WAV file playback.
