About this model
The Roland BK-7m is a dedicated backing sound module designed for solo performers and rehearsal use. It houses a Roland sound engine compatible with GM2, GS, and XG Lite formats, with SuperNATURAL technology applied to select sounds, and delivers up to 128 voices of polyphony across a library of over 1,092 tones and 57 drum sets. The module offers 433 accompaniment styles across 10 families, plus 954 Music Assistants to guide arrangement choices. Connectivity is comprehensive: audio inputs and outputs on quarter-inch jacks, MIDI IN/OUT, USB Host for storage, Computer USB for MIDI, a headphone jack, pedal and footswitch jacks, and a composite video output for displaying lyrics and chord symbols on an external screen. A built-in USB recorder captures audio directly to WAV at 44.1 kHz/16-bit, and onboard parametric EQ and multi-band compression are available for shaping the mix. The unit is compact - 303 × 194 × 101 mm - and runs on a 9 V DC supply.
