About This Model

The Rode NT1-A is a large-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone built around a 1-inch gold-sputtered capsule with externally polarized, transformerless surface-mount circuitry. Its headline specification is an exceptionally low self-noise of just 5.0 dB(A), making it well suited to capturing vocals, acoustic instruments, and other detail-sensitive sources where a quiet noise floor matters. The frequency response extends across the full audible range from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, and the mic can handle peaks up to 137 dB SPL. It requires 24-48V phantom power and connects via a standard 3-pin XLR output with a 100-ohm output impedance. Internal capsule shock mounting helps reduce handling noise transmitted through the microphone body itself.
