This preamp is in excellent condition. Tested to power on; no further functional testing performed. Note: The product is in fantastic condition with hardly any surface marks or scratches. We were unable to fully test this unit as it requires a specific input connection for audio that we did not have available at the time of testing. The unit powers on and all buttons respond as expected. Please review all photos carefully, as they provide an accurate representation of the cosmetic condition of the product.

About this model

The Quad 34 is a solid-state stereo preamplifier offering a thoughtfully designed input selection spanning Radio, Disc (Phono MM/MC), CD, Tape, and Aux, all switched via pushbutton-controlled solid-state switches with no relays. Its tone-shaping toolkit is distinctive: a Tilt control uses an 8-pole filter to rotate the frequency response around an 800Hz axis, allowing the overall tonal balance to be shifted warmer or cooler, complemented by Bass Lift/Step controls and switchable HF filtering at 10kHz and 7kHz. The phono stage accepts plugin modules for MC and MM cartridges with variable loading options. Throughout the signal path, polarity is never inverted, keeping the output non-inverting from input to output. Interchannel balance is held to ±0.5dB across the entire volume range - an exceptionally tight specification. The unit runs on low supply rails and draws around 2.75 Watts, making it an unusually efficient and compact preamp at 321 × 64 × 207mm and 3.2kg.
