About This Model

The Origin Effects RevivalDRIVE Hot Rod Edition is an all-analogue, dual-channel overdrive pedal built around discrete transistor circuitry that recreates the full signal path of a hot-rodded vintage valve amplifier - preamp, phase inverter, power amp, and rectifier stages alike. It even synthesises a mains power signal, with DIP switches to toggle between US and GB frequencies, subtly altering the character of the 'ghost tones' produced by the GHOST control, which replicates the sag and note bloom of inefficient vintage amps from the '50s and '60s. Each channel offers independent control, while the MID-ASSIGN section provides up to +8dB of boost across a selectable midrange frequency, and the RE-AMP EQ section includes presets voiced for Blackface, Plexi, and flat-response amps. A Blend control allows parallel mixing of the unaffected signal, and a PWR AMP setting optimises the output for use with cabinet simulation. The result is a pedal that behaves less like a stompbox and more like a fully moded amplifier front end.
