About this model
The Origin Effects RevivalDRIVE Hot Rod Edition is an all-analog overdrive pedal that reconstructs the complete signal path of a vintage valve amplifier using discrete transistor-based circuitry - modelling the preamp, phase inverter, power amp, and rectifier stages. It features two channels (Valve Rectifier and Silicon Rectifier), each with its own control set, allowing players to move between tonal flavours akin to Marshall Plexi and MESA/Boogie-style responses. A synthesized mains power signal recreates the sag and harmonic interaction of a real valve amp, while the GHOST control adds further sag and ghost-note behaviour characteristic of 1950s and '60s amplifiers. The RE-AMP EQ section offers three voicing presets - Blackface, Plexi, and Flat - alongside HI SHELF and BRI-CAP CUT trimmers, and the MID-ASSIGN control delivers up to +8dB of variable mid boost sweepable between 780Hz and 1.9kHz. A BLEND control with separate DRY GAIN allows parallel mixing of the dry signal with the processed output. The pedal accepts 9V DC center-negative power at 120mA and is now a discontinued model.
