About This Model
The MXR Sugar Drive (M294) is an overdrive pedal built around a circuit inspired by a rare and highly sought-after overdrive design - widely compared to the legendary Klon. At its core is a voltage doubler that increases headroom, giving the pedal a clean, transparent character with plenty of dynamic range. The Drive control blends clean signal with overdrive as it is turned up, mirroring the natural transition from clean to broken-up tones that you'd hear from a pushed tube amplifier. It runs on standard 9V power at just 9 milliamps, and features true bypass switching for a clean signal path when disengaged.
