About this model
The Linn Sondek LP12 is a belt-drive transcription turntable built around a suspended sub-chassis, where three springs isolate the platter and armboard from the plinth. A two-piece zinc-alloy platter sits on an alloy subplatter driven by a flat rubber belt, running on a patented single-point main bearing. A high-torque synchronous AC motor delivers 33 1/3 and 45 rpm with a quoted speed accuracy of 0.03%. Since 1991 it has been sold as a mechanical assembly, so it pairs with a partner tonearm and external power supply of your choosing.
