Linn Katan Hi-Fi Speaker

Why this one

• Fair condition - noticeable imperfections, priced to reflect it
• Linn engineering with a soft-dome tweeter, known for excellent soundstage and timing.

Condition: Fair

This Hi-Fi speaker is in fair condition. Our 7-point functional test was completed in full: all checks passed except all drivers. Note: Both speakers show signs of use, with quite a few surface marks and scratches throughout. All corners on both speakers show damage, with one corner more damaged than the others. One speaker has a faulty tweeter, with audio coming only from the bass/midrange driver. The other speaker works perfectly and sounds great. Both speakers appear to have had their feet removed and refitted, as they do not sit parallel to each other, and marks are visible where they were previously stuck down. Please review all photos carefully, as they provide an accurate representation of the cosmetic condition of the product.

About this model

The Linn Katan is a compact 2-way passive bass reflex standmount loudspeaker, pairing a 19mm soft-dome tweeter with a 160mm bass/midrange cone. It covers 75Hz to 20kHz (+/-3dB) with 85 dB/W/m sensitivity and an 8 Ohm nominal impedance, and it wants a capable amplifier of at least 30 Watts to deliver its best dynamics. A distinctive feature is its interchangeable crossover boards on the rear panel, which allow passive, bi-wiring, bi-amplification and 'Aktiv' configurations. It is known for an excellent soundstage and strong timing, though it can sound cold at very high volumes. Each speaker measures 170mm x 340mm x 230mm and weighs 6kg.

A great opportunity to own a Linn Katan at this price point.
