About This Model
The Korg Kronos 61 is a professional synthesizer workstation built around nine distinct sound engines running simultaneously: the SGX-2 premium acoustic piano, EP-1 MDS electric piano, HD-1 PCM synthesizer, AL-1 analog modeling synth, CX-3 tonewheel organ, STR-1 physical modeling plucked strings, MOD-7 waveshaping VPM synthesizer, MS-20EX component modeling, and PolysixEX analog modeling. Its 61-key Natural Touch semi-weighted keybed supports both velocity sensitivity and aftertouch. An 8-inch TFT colour touchscreen provides hands-on access to sounds and editing, while onboard tools include a 16-track MIDI sequencer, 16-track audio recorder, built-in sampling at up to 2GB RAM, KARMA phrase generation, and 197 effect types. Connectivity spans balanced main and individual audio outputs, optical S/PDIF I/O, DIN and USB MIDI, CV/Gate jacks, and three pedal inputs.
