About This Model

The Korg 01/WFD is a 61-key workstation synthesizer from 1990, built around Korg's AI² (Advanced Integrated II) synthesis system with 48 MB of ROM. It delivers 32-voice polyphony and includes two multi-effects processors offering 47 digital effects — reverb, chorus, delay, overdrive, rotary speaker and more. The defining feature of the FD variant is its built-in 3.5" floppy disk drive, which sets it apart from the standard 01/W by enabling onboard storage and recall of programs, sequences, and user data — a significant practical advantage for live and studio work. An onboard sequencer and multiple audio outputs (including four individual outs for flexible routing) complete a workstation package housed in a heavy-duty aluminium and steel chassis.
