About This Model
The Harbeth Xpression DPM1 is a two-way passive nearfield studio monitor built around a 200mm injection-moulded polymer woofer with a high-compliance long-throw rubber surround and a Morel ferro-cooled 28mm soft-dome tweeter. A sophisticated 15-element critically damped crossover handles the transition at 2.6kHz, while the 15mm MDF cabinet is lined internally with 16mm absorbent fibre to suppress standing waves. Sensitivity is rated at 87dB (1W/1m) into an 8Ω nominal load, with a frequency response of 48Hz-20kHz (±3dB), and connections are made via Neutrik Speakon sockets. The woofer carries a field-cancelling rear magnet for magnetic screening - useful in environments with CRT displays or tape machines - and each cabinet weighs approximately 10kg.
