About This Model

The Emerald Solace Custom Run 2022 is a lap steel guitar built in the Weissenborn style by Emerald Guitars, the Irish composite instrument maker known for using advanced carbon fibre construction. This Custom Run example features red carbon fibre sides and back with a real wood veneer top, combining the resonant open-tuned playability of a traditional hollow-neck lap steel with a striking, individual aesthetic that sets it apart from conventional wooden instruments. Played flat on the lap with a steel bar, the Weissenborn format produces the singing, sustain-rich voice characteristic of the style, suited to blues, Hawaiian, and slide-oriented playing.
