About This Model

The Electro-Voice ZX1-Sub is a passive 12" subwoofer built around a single EVS-12S 305 mm woofer, capable of handling 400W RMS, 800W Program, and 1600W Peak power from an external amplifier. Its frequency response runs from 53 Hz to 125 Hz (–3 dB), with a sensitivity of 94 dB at 1W/1m and a calculated maximum SPL of 127 dB. Connections are handled by two Neutrik Speakon NL4 connectors wired in parallel, allowing straightforward daisy-chaining in a system. The enclosure is constructed from 15 mm 9-ply plywood with internal bracing, finished in textured paint and protected by a 16 GA steel grille. A pole mount socket makes it easy to stack a full-range speaker on top, and the unit is optimised to pair with Electro-Voice ZX1, EVID, and EVU models — making it a natural extension of an existing EV rig.
