The EarthQuaker Life Pedal V2 is a collaboration between EarthQuaker Devices and Sunn O))). It's a compact pedal that combines distortion, octave up, and booster functions in one unit. Here are its key features:

• Distortion : The "Amplitude" side is modeled after the classic "White Face" distortion unit, using modern components for reliability and longevity.
• Octave Up : An all-discrete, analog full-wave rectifier-based octave effect with a blendable analog octave up circuit. The Octave control slowly blends in the octave effects as you turn it clockwise. Requires separate expression pedal.
• Booster : A boost circuit with two clipping options: Symmetrical Silicon, Asymmetrical Silicon & LED, and Pure OpAmp Drive.
• Expression Control : Allows for hands-free octave swells or immediate octavve fuzz destruction using an expression pedal.
• Flexi-Switch : Enables the use of an external switch (not included) to toggle the octave effect on/off.

Improvements over V1

The V2 version features a more traditional layout with knobs on top, unlike the original V1 with controls on the front panel. The V2 also adds expression control for the octave blend and Flexi-Switch functionality.

Tone and Functionality

The Life Pedal V2 is designed to represent the core front end chain used in the Steve Albini-recorded and mixed Life Metal sessions. It's intended to drive vintage Sunn O))) Model T amplifiers, but it can be used with any rig.
