About This Model
The E-MU Proteus 2000 is a rackmount synthesizer module built around a sample-based synthesis engine with 128-voice polyphony and 32-part multitimbrality. It houses 32 MB of internal ROM, expandable up to 128 MB via four internal expansion slots, giving it considerable sonic range and flexibility. Audio routing is well-specified for studio use, with six analogue outputs - including four sub-outputs for individual insertion - alongside a stereo S/PDIF digital output. Dual 24-bit onboard effects and two MIDI In/Out/Through ports round out a module designed to sit at the centre of a MIDI production setup.
