About This Model
The Denon DVD-2800 II is a substantial home theatre DVD and CD player built around a 12-bit, 108-MHz video D/A converter stage paired with a Silicon Image DVDO deinterlacing engine, delivering progressive-scan output via component (YPbPr), S-Video, and composite video connections. On the audio side it passes Dolby Digital and DTS bitstreams through coaxial and optical digital outputs, decodes HDCD for enhanced CD playback, and supports 24-bit/96kHz stereo PCM digital passthrough. Analogue line output is rated at 2V, with a quoted signal-to-noise ratio of 115dB, dynamic range of 108dB, and total harmonic distortion of 0.0018% - figures typical of a serious two-channel and home-cinema source component of its era. Disc compatibility covers DVD-Video, CD-DA, Video CD, and HDCD. The unit weighs 6.5kg and measures 434 × 132 × 339mm.
