About This Model

The Cyrus FM X is a dedicated FM radio tuner built around a custom analog circuit layout using carefully chosen decoding chips, designed to extract high-fidelity audio from FM broadcasts with notable bass depth and midrange detail. It accepts a 75Ω external FM aerial input and delivers a line-level audio output at 775mV at 95% modulation via RCA, making it a straightforward fit into any separates system. Tuning is handled in precise 10kHz increments - finer than the more common 25kHz step - with seven one-touch station presets and a multi-segment signal-strength meter for dialling in the best reception. Measured performance includes a 50dB signal-to-noise ratio, 0.05% THD in mono, and 90dB pilot tone suppression. The FM X also features an MC-BUS connection for system integration and a dedicated port for the optional PSX-R external power supply, which Cyrus designed to further improve dynamic performance and soundstage when added.
