About This Model

The Cambridge Audio Azur 651P is a dedicated MM/MC phono preamplifier designed to bring turntable signals up to line level with high accuracy. It supports both Moving Magnet and Moving Coil cartridges via dedicated stereo RCA inputs, with 39dB of gain for MM and 55dB for MC, and a nominal output of 300mV for both. RIAA equalization is handled passively using multi-parallel capacitors, while discrete low-noise transistors and single-ended class-A gain stages keep distortion exceptionally low - 0.005% THD for MM and 0.002% for MC across the full 20Hz-20kHz range. An on/off subsonic filter removes inaudible low-frequency content, and copper shielding protects the sensitive input circuitry from interference. The unit is built into an acoustically damped full metal chassis with a brushed aluminium front panel, and runs on just 5W of power consumption.
