About this model
The Behringer Autocom Pro-XL MDX 1600 is a single rack-space, 2-channel dynamics processor combining expander, gate, compressor, and peak limiter functions in one unit. It features XLR and 1/4" inputs and outputs with switchable +4dBu or -10dBV operating levels, plus sidechain I/O with a monitor function. Behringer's Interactive Knee Adaptation (IKA) blends hard- and soft-knee compression characteristics for program-adaptive response, while the integrated Dynamic Enhancer (IDE) compensates for bass build-up under heavy compression. A switchable de-esser and low contour filter add further vocal and mix control, and the Interactive Gain Control (IGC) peak limiter protects downstream signal chains. Separate 12-segment LED meters display input, output, and gain reduction levels across both channels, and a stereo couple function links the two channels for true stereo operation. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 115dB and a frequency response extending from 0.35Hz to 200kHz, the MDX 1600 suits studio, live, and broadcast applications alike.
