This Hi-Fi amplifier is in fair condition. Our 8-point functional test was completed in full: all checks passed except no hum. Note: The amplifier is in working order; however, when connected it produces a constant quiet, high-pitched buzzing sound. Audio does pass through normally, but the buzz remains present. Cosmetically it is in great condition with only very minor surface marks. Please review all photos carefully, as they provide an accurate representation of the cosmetic condition of the product.

The Audiolab 8000A is a 60-watt-per-channel stereo integrated amplifier operating in Class AB, built around a toroidal power transformer with separate left and right power supplies for low interference. It was notably the first amplifier to feature a dedicated CD input, and its flexible design allows it to function as a standalone integrated amp, a pre-amplifier, or a power amplifier by adjusting internal links. Inputs include switchable MM and MC phono stages, CD, Tuner, and two Tape loops, alongside pre-out and line outputs. Its sound character is widely described as neutral and revealing - precise and transparent, though occasionally perceived as clinical with lesser source material.
