About This Model

The Audio-Technica AT8015 is a line + gradient condenser microphone built for video production and broadcast applications, including ENG and EFP work. Its elongated 460 mm body houses a fixed-charge, permanently polarized condenser element with a narrow acceptance angle that excels at picking up sound at a distance while rejecting noise from the sides and rear. Frequency response spans 40-20,000 Hz, and a switchable 80 Hz low-frequency roll-off at 18 dB/octave helps cut unwanted rumble. It handles up to 132 dB SPL (phantom) with a dynamic range of 110 dB and a signal-to-noise ratio of 72 dB, making it capable in demanding acoustic environments. The mic runs on either phantom power (11-52V DC) or a single 1.5V AA battery - the battery offering up to 1,200 hours of typical life - and outputs via an integral 3-pin XLRM connector.
