About This Model
The Aston Stealth is an end-fire cardioid dynamic microphone built around a 25mm moving-coil capsule housed in a substantial 695g body. A rotary switch at the base offers four selectable tonal voicings - two optimised for vocals, one for acoustic guitar, and a darker ribbon-like tone - making it unusually versatile for a dynamic mic. When 48V phantom power is detected, an onboard Class-A gain stage activates automatically, boosting sensitivity and output; without phantom power the mic operates passively, bypassing the electronics entirely. The capsule sits in an integral shockmount supported by three Sorbothane mounts and a 200g ballast for mass-loading, with internal anti-hum circuitry in place of a conventional humbucking coil. A removable 6mm acoustic foam pop screen and wire mesh cage provide front-end protection, while purple LEDs indicate active mode when phantom power is present.
