About this model
The Aston Stealth is an active dynamic microphone with a cardioid polar pattern and a full 20Hz-20kHz frequency response. What sets it apart is its dual-mode operation: without phantom power it runs as a passive dynamic, and with 48V phantom power detected it switches to active mode, engaging a built-in Class A preamp that raises sensitivity from around 1mV/Pa to approximately 150mV/Pa - a significant output jump that makes it unusually versatile across interfaces and preamps. Four selectable voicing modes (Vocal 1, Vocal 2, Guitar, and Dark) let you shape the tonal character at the mic itself, while a maximum SPL of 140dB and a self-noise floor of 10dB(A) give it a wide usable dynamic range. Internally, a Sorbothane shockmount decouples the capsule from handling noise, and a stainless steel Faraday cage provides RF shielding - both practical features for studio and broadcast use. Connects via standard XLR.
