About This Model

The Ashdown Rootmaster RM-500-EVO II is a 500-watt solid-state bass amplifier head built around a matte anodised alloy front panel and weighing just 2.1 kg, making it a powerful yet highly portable choice for gigging bassists. Its 5-band EQ covers Bass, Lo Mid, Middle, Hi Mid, and Treble, complemented by a Shape switch for dialling in classic tones quickly. On-board processing includes a one-knob compressor, tube-emulated overdrive, and a sub-harmonic generator, all footswitch-assignable via the optional FS2. Connectivity is comprehensive: passive and active instrument inputs, dual Neutrik Speakon/Jack speaker outputs (minimum 4-ohm load), a balanced XLR DI output, effects loop, tuner output, and a rear headphone output with its own preamp for silent practice. A VU meter monitors input levels, and a mute button shifts the meter colour from orange to blue for clear stage visibility.
