About This Model

The Ashdown Rootmaster RM-MAG-420 is a 420-watt bass amplifier head built around a digital power section, delivering substantial output from a compact and lightweight chassis weighing just 4 kg. It offers a versatile feature set tailored to the working bassist, including a 5-band EQ with generous ±15dB of cut and boost across five frequency centres, a one-knob compressor, a shape switch for instant classic Ashdown tonality, a footswitchable tube-emulated overdrive, and a footswitchable sub-harmonic generator for added low-end depth. The unit accepts signal via high and low instrument inputs as well as a line input, and provides a balanced DI output, tuner output, and a full effects loop alongside speaker outputs. Rated to a minimum load of 4 ohms, it is now listed as a legacy product and is no longer available new through major retailers.
