About This Model

The Ashdown CTM 300 is a 300-watt all-tube bass amplifier head handbuilt in the United Kingdom. Its preamp section runs five valves, while the power section employs six KT88 output tubes - each individually fused and user-replaceable, with bias adjustable per tube via a dual-function VU meter. The tone shaping is handled by a passive EQ with Bass, Middle, and Treble controls supplemented by Deep, Mid Shift, and Bright shape buttons. Connectivity includes High and Low instrument inputs, a tube-driven transformer-derived DI output with isolated ground, front-mounted effects loop, and Speakon and Jack speaker outputs with a minimum impedance of 2 Ohms. The chassis is built from 18mm marine-grade birch ply with heavy-duty handles and an internal cooling fan, reflecting the amp's serious touring-grade construction.
