About this model
The Arcam FMJ A29 is a stereo integrated amplifier built around Class G amplification technology, delivering 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 175 watts per channel into 4 ohms, with distortion measured at less than one part per million. A toroidal power supply and complementary transistor output stages underpin its clean, controlled power delivery. Connectivity is generous: six line-level inputs, a configurable moving magnet phono stage, a front-facing 3.5mm auxiliary input, a headphone output, preamp outputs for bi-amping or subwoofer use, and record outputs. The acoustically damped chassis keeps noise to a minimum, standby draw is just 0.5W, and the large aluminium volume knob gives a suitably premium feel at the controls. Compatible with the CR902 system remote and able to power Arcam rSeries products directly, the A29 is a well-specified hub for a serious stereo system. Note that this model has a known tendency for speaker output relay failure, so prospective buyers should confirm channel stability before purchase - our unit has passed functional testing across all eight test points.
